Over 500 cares homes in the UK will take part in the event which includes virtual tours, fundraising dance-a-thons, karaoke, fashion shows, art projects, community service days and much more.
The event, which is organised by Champion Social Care, is being supported by the Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC), the National Citizen Service, Silver Sunday and Intergeneration Music Making.
Staff across the DHSC’s team will be joining in a number of virtual events, including virtual tours of Majesticare and CareTech plc care services.

Hallmark hopes to raise £1,000 which will enable Musica to deliver their online music activity library, Musica Connect, free of charge to individuals living with dementia.
The care home provider will also be hosting a live discussion on Thursday, 1 July. A panel consisting of CEO at Alzheimer’s Society Kate Lee, Director of The Outstanding Society Zoe Fry and Chief Nurse of Adult Social Care, Professor Deborah Sturdy OBE, will be debating ‘How do we restore confidence in the social care sector following the pandemic?’
