The Chase fans can expect to see The Governess vexing viewers for a long time to come.
Anne Hegerty has been a mainstay of the ITV quiz show for the past 11 years, launching her to wider success on series like I’m a Celebrity and her own quiz show Britain’s Brightest Family.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Hegerty clarified that she will never leave The Chase unless she gets “fired or they cancel it”. And judging by the incredible ratings for ITV, the latter seems unlikely!
“In a sense, it’s an easy job,” she explained. “I’m autistic, so I find things like getting showered, dressed and making my way to the studio quite difficult and stressful.
“But the place where I know absolutely what I’m doing is on the studio floor. I’ll often find myself thinking, ‘Why can’t the rest of life be like this?'”
Hegerty has spoken often about living with autism in the past, now explaining how her professional life has been impacted.
“Because one of the traits of autistic people is that we get obsessed with things,” she acknowledged. “You end up with an enormous amount of information, but it is very disruptive to your life.”

Hegerty does have plenty of new Chase episodes on the docket, with the show having been renewed for 500 episodes last year.
She has also just completed a new series of ITV’s primetime hit Beat the Chasers, and next joins her co-stars on the new spin-off The Chasers’ Road Trip: Trains, Brains and Automobiles next week.
The Chase continues Mondays through Fridays on ITV.
